Jungfrau

Jungfrau

The Jungfraujoch pass is located between the Mönch and Jungfrau mountains in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland, on the border between the Bern and Valais cantons.

This area is home to the Aletsch Glacier, considered the longest in Europe, and various structures that hold many European records.

The Ice Palace

The "Jungfrau Railway" station was built inside the mountain and is considered the highest in Europe.

In addition to this feature, the mountain contains a structure that includes an ice palace or "Eispalast", certainly a destination not to be missed.

GASTRONOMIC  SPECIALITIES

Swiss culinary culture is highly diverse, combining influences from German, French and Northern Italian cuisine.

Swiss cuisine is the result of various gastronomic cultures present in the neighbouring territories and varies from canton to canton, it boasts an abundant production of cheeses such as Gruyere, Emmentaler or Appenzeller, special homemade sausages as well as wines and beers famous all over the world.

EIGER ULTRA TRAIL

The Eiger Ultra Trail is an event launched in 2013 and has now become one of the peak events of the summer season; it is run over a 102 km route and an overall elevation difference of 6,700 m.

While attending the numerous sporting events in the Jungfrau region, the traditional folk event in Männlichen should not be missed, a folk dance festival with many different traditional costumes from various cantons throughout Switzerland.
